Speech information transmission esp. between mobile radio subscribers

Analogue speech information is source-coded digitally in a speech encoder (SC1), channel-coded with error protection in an encoding stage (CS) and transmitted over one or more channels (CH). At the receiver digital speech information in the transmitted speech signals (QSC1) is channel-decoded (DCS), source-decoded and reconverted (DA) into analogue form. The source coding of the analogue speech signals is performed in such a way that for source decoding in the speech decoder (SD1) the soft output values contained in the source-coded signals are used.
