Hence, characters R, E, C are displayed in the digits 8a, 8b, 8c of the display device 8 and become as a whole ''REC''. The subsequent operations of buttons 6, 3, 4 for playback, fast feed and rewinding let characters ''RLY'', ''FF'', ''REI'' be displayed accordingly.
