<p>PURPOSE:To remove COS efficiently by using iron hydroxide or diglycolamine solution supported by a carrier made of iron compound as an absorbent and bringing a COS containing gas into contact with the aforementioned absorbent. CONSTITUTION:Either iron hydroxide itself is used as an absorbent, or diglycolamine, its aqueous solution or its organic solvent solution supported by a porous carrier such as iron hydroxide, hydrated iron oxide or iron oxide is used as an absorbent, and a COS containing gas is brought into contact with the aforementioned absorbent at room temperature to 100 deg.C. At that time, not only part of COS is absorbed directly, but part of it is decomposed to H2S and the generated H2S is absorbed by the absorbent.</p> |
