The elastically deformable sealing element (10) which at least partially encloses the rivet shaft (4) has on the end side a ring groove (12) coaxial with the shaft and adjoining the cover (11). In the assembly state the groove aligns with ring edge forming the opening of the spring rod matrix. The ring groove is enclosed concentrically by a moulded ring projection (13) forming an end pressing face. In the event of assembly the projection interacts with the opposing faces of the matrix to pretension and fix the flat material. The rivet shaft changes at right angles into the rivet head (3). The sealing element is shaped funnel-shaped on the shaft to form a clearance.
