The device has a housing through which the air flows horizontally, containing a flap (3) pivoted on a horizontal shaft (2), located off-centre. Fixed to the shaft is an arm (7) with a counterbalance. The flap on its air-incident side has an elastic seal in the form of a disk attached to the housing around the periphery of the larger of the flap sections, and fastened to the flap around the periphery of its smaller section. The flap has a backing strut (6) which lies inside the strut (9) on the housing inner surface, on which the flap rests when closed. This backing strut rests on the seal when the flap is closed.
