A set of protective guards for shielding parts of a vehicle hand control linkage comprises a first guard member 20, to cover a support rod 17, and its associated connections to an operating lever 12, and a mounting member 18, and a second guard member 21 to cover said lever 12, and its connections to a brake control link rod 14 and a cable linkage 19. Each guard member comprises a composite of a rigid base layers (22, Fig. 3) of, for example, polycarbonate or steel, and a padding layer (23, Fig. 3) of a foamed plastics material such as a semi-rigid self-skinning polyurethane, oriented towards the driver's legs. <IMAGE> |
