Particular non-sensitizing dyes which are capable of forming an inclusion complex or clathrate with a soluble cyclodextrine compound, preferably a partially methylated cyclodextrin, show an increased extinction compared to the non-complexed dye, and, as a consequence, can be more effectively used as a filter-, acutance-, or anti-halation dye in a hydrophilic layer of a photographic material.
