PURPOSE:To provide a data correcting system with which a reproduced image can precisely reproduce the color of a source image even when there is the difference of input/output characteristics between an image reader and a printer in a color image processing system. CONSTITUTION:A chart file prepared inside a computer 3 is transmitted to a printer 5 and a sample chart 51 is printed out. This sample chart 51 is read by an image scanner 1 and at the computer 3, those read data are compared with the chart file. Then, a gamma curve table 37 and a color correction coefficient 39 are calculated and down loaded to the image scanner 1 so that the gray density and color of the read data can be corrected into that of the chart file. After wards, the image scanner 1 transmits the read data to the computer 3 after executing the gray density correction and the color correction to those data while using the gamma curve table 37 and the color correction coefficient 39. |
