PURPOSE:To selectively produce an organosilane from silane, SiH4 and an olefin in a high yield without deactivating a catalyst. CONSTITUTION:This production of organosilanes of the formula [(n) is 1 to 4, preferably 1 or 2; R is an organic group such as ethyl, propyl or butyl] is carried out by conducting a hydrosilylation reaction between (A) silane, SiH4 and (B) an olefin (preferably an end olefin) in the presence of (C) a rare earth metal complex [preferably, an organoneodymium complex of the formula, Cp2*NdCH(SiMe3)2 (Cp* is pentamethylcyclopentadienyl; Me is methyl)]. |
