<p>PURPOSE: To improve the permselectivity of a polymeric gas separation membrane and to make the membrane high in performance by bringing the polymeric gas separation membrane into contact with fluorinated hydrocarbon liquid. CONSTITUTION: A multi-component gas mixture is treated with polymeric separation membranes and a gas is selected. Where the polymeric gas separation membranes are treated with a soln. of fluorinated solvents, preferably perfluorinated solvents, fluorocarbons and cauking agents. Thus defects or cracks in thin and close separation layers are repaired, the permselectivity regarding to gases in gas mixtures is improved, especially selectivity of the membrane of oxygen to nitrogen is improved to make the gas separation membrane high in performance.</p> |
