PURPOSE:To obtain a base fabric for non-coat air bag, excellent in light weightness, mechanical properties, flexibility and accommodability, having a low gas permeability and capable of reducing impact energy on the occasion of shock. CONSTITUTION:Thus base fabric for non-coat air bag, having <=1.2cm<3>/sec/cm air-permeability under pressure drop of 1.27cm is produced by weaving a plain weave fabric from weft yarns and warp yarns respectively composed of non- sized polyester modified cross-section multi-filaments having 180 to 450D total fineness, 0.1 to 7.0d single yarn fineness, 1.5 to 6.0 flatness of cross-section of single yarn, >=7.5g/d strength and 12.0% elongation, then scouring the woven fabric and applying a heat setting and a calender treatment thereto as necessary.
