<p>PURPOSE:To provide a video signal system conversion device which enables the whole picture of a MUSE signal to be viewed as an NTSC signal when the MUSE signal is converted into the NTSC signal. CONSTITUTION:The MUSE signal is converted by conversion memories 6 and 7 into the number of scanning lines and the aspect ratio of the NTSC system. The write control signal, read control signal, and line-sequential pulses outputted from a synchronizing circuit 20 are switched and then the conversion memories 6 and 7 converts the MUSE signal into the NTSC signal in plural conversion modes. A conversion mode wherein the scanning lines of the MUSE signal are thinned out almost to half and the lateral size of a screen with a 16:9 aspect ratio is reduced to apply the signal to a screen with a 4:3 aspect ratio is provided, so that the whole screen of the MUSE signal can be viewed.</p> |
