摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To increase rigidity of a branch section of an intake mainfold and prevent partial contact of a swirl control valve which is caused by insufficient rigidity by remodelling the structure of the air suction manifold. CONSTITUTION:A branch section 7a which branches an independent air intake passage 7 into two branch passages 7p, 7s is provided on the intake manifold 2 side, and a swirl control valve 10 which opens and closes one branch passage 7s is connected by a valve stem 11 which passes through in the direction of cylinder rows, respectively in such a way that it can be opened, closed, and turned integrally. Each independent air intake passage 7 in the intake manifold 2 is formed in such a shape that it is curved upward after it hangs over toward the direction in which it is apart from an engine 1 and that its upper end is communicated with a surge tank at an upper position of the branch section 7a. A resonance chamber 14 extended in the direction of cylinder rows is provided on the upper side of a part extended toward the direction in which it comes apart from the engine 1 from the branch section 7a of each independent air intake passage 7. Each branch section 7a is connected and reinforced integrally in the direction of cylinder rows by a vertical wall 14a on the engine side.</p>
