<p>PURPOSE: To enable the instantaneous voltage change to a heating element by providing a means for operating first and second sets of selectively operable piezoelectric lines in the means for heating liquid ink by the heating element with a thermal ink jet printing head. CONSTITUTION: In a switch battery 100 connected to each heating element (resistor) 26, three principal voltage lines 102 and three adjusting lines 104 are provided as the inputs thereof. These principal voltage lines 102 and the adjusting lines 104 are arranged in parallel to the heating element 26 and transistor switches 106a-106f are provided to the principal voltage lines 102 and the adjusting lines 104 to be controlled by a selection circuit 110. When a drive transistor 50 is operated to complete the whole circuit, voltage of 38-44 V is applied through the heating element 26 and, in order to obtain other integer voltage between 38-44 V, the adjusting lines 104 are used.</p> |
