PURPOSE: To provide a tool holder responding to a large impact and rotating force, made of independent elements of a relatively small number, and capable of being easily assembled. CONSTITUTION: This tool holder is provided with a sleeve body 20 with a central opening 21 for receiving a tool bit with an axial locking groove 11 which is closed at both ends for engaging a cylindrical locking body 50 which is located in a through opening 22 in the sleeve body 20. The sleeve body 20 is surrounded by a displaceable adjustment sleeve 30 which has an area for preventing an outward radial movement of the locking body 50 and which in a displaced position permits the radial outward movement of the locking body 50. A ring element consisting of a plurality of ring segments 41 is located behind the locking body 50 and extends with a support portion 42 into the opening. The ring element can be displaced to the rear against spring pressure together with the movement of the locking body 50, and it can move the locking body 50 radially outwardly in its displaced position. |
