MULTIPORT TYPE ELECTRIC CONNECTOR

PURPOSE: To provide a small size circuit base mounting multi-port electric connector suitable for high speed data transmission. CONSTITUTION: A multiport electri connector used for attachment to a circuit base includes a common housing 6 having upper and lower stages of connector module (or plug) insertion openings 11 and 12. An almost L-shaped contact 10 is arranged in a central barrier plate of the housing 6. A shielding plate can be arranged in a slot between columns of the contact 10. An external shield 18 may be provided for shielding the outer periphery of the common housing 6. A connector module inserted into the openings 11 and 12 is in symmetrical relation.
