PURPOSE:To provide a gas generator for an air bag having a retainer structure impeding hanging down a filter. CONSTITUTION:A housing 1, gas generating means in the housing and an ignition means are provided, the housing is equipped with a coolant filter chamber 6 in the outside of a combustion chamber 5, a retainer 19 is arranged in the coolant filter chamber, the retainer includes an annular part having an external diameter equal to an internal diameter of the housing and an internal diameter equal to an internal diameter of a filter, and the retainer has at least two pawl parts protruded to the radial direction inside to separate in the peripheral direction in an internal edge of the annular part. |
