PURPOSE:To enable communication of packets having plural kinds of packet header formats taking software compatibility with an existent system into consideration without restructuring hardware, etc., as to the processor which is used in performing communication in packet formats in the parallel processing system. CONSTITUTION:The parallel processing system processor 2-1, which is connected to the other processor through a communication network 1 so that a communication can be carried out and constitutes the parallel processing system together with the communication network 1 and the other processor 2-2, generates a packet consisting of a header part containing control information regarding the communication and a data part containing data to be sent by this communication, and sends the packet to the other processor 2-2 by the communication network 1 on the basis of the control information that the header part has, and is equipped with a sent data readout control part 4 which controls a read of the data put in the data part of the packet out of a storage part 3 at the time of the transmission of the packet according to a specified packet format. |
