The method and apparatus is prepared for polishing the surface of the plate type nacre by a polishing roller counter-rotating to a transfer roller. It comprises the polishing roller(14) connected to a driving pulley(47) of a motor(46) via a belt(48); an elastic rubber means(26a) covering a circumferential surface of the transfer roller(26); a transfer hole(25a) perforated in both walls(12a,12b) of a center support frame(12); a worm gear(33) of a speed reducer(34) installed on one wall(12a) of the frame; a pinion gear(30) fixed at one side of a rotary shaft(27).
