A ceramic core (10) has a system of partitions (16) which allow fluid (105) introduced by way of a filler (15) to circulate. The partitions are encircled by a further channel (20) which is fabricated into the ceramic core. A number of high frequency generators (11) are located at the rear of the ceramic core and these bombard the core and fluid either directly or through the channel (20) which constitutes an electron gun. The bombardment raises the temperature of the core and fluid and produces thermal radiation and warm air flow through the containing perforated case (12).
