Instrument for implanting medication pellets in animals

Instrument consists of a gun-shaped body (1) with a handle (2), contg. a hollow needle (5) with a push rod (7) which can slide inside it. The body of the instrument also has a magazine (13) for the pellets and a drive mechanism (24) actuated by a lever (30) with a toothed segment (27) engaging with a cog (25). The drive mechanism also incorporates a toothed belt (21) passing round two end pulleys (18,19) and a third pulley (20) carrying the toothed cog (25). The operating lever (30) has a second arm (17) which advances the magazine in steps as the pellets are used.
