Reading desk with pivoting top plate

The desk has a top plate (12) which is joined to a leg (14) by a cylindrical rod (38). This is joined to the centre of the plate and rotates and moves laterally in the horizontal end (36H) of a tube (36) joined to the leg. The rod is held in position by a screw (42). The screw passes through a hole in the tube and screws into a threaded hole in a collar round the tube. This is at a part of the rod which is thinner than the rest of its and two shoulders limit its lateral movement.
