With its sheath (4) removed, the conductor end (2) fits the termination sleeve bore (7). An annular sealing cap (8) excludes moisture, etc. The indicator (9), previously inserted, comprises an end-stop (13) and close-fitting piston (11), interconnected by an elastically deformable bridge (12) carrying a finger (10) perpendicular to the sleeve axis. Using piston end-face projections (16), the finger is aligned with a slot (14) in the sleeve wall (5). With the end-stop against the bore end, and the conductor end, pressing on the piston, correctly positioned for compression, the finger is raised into the slot by the deflecting bridge, positively confirming correct penetration. Bridge elasticity allows repeated confirmation if necessary. Through joints are similar, but double-ended, with central stop-barriers.
