Hygienic sealing container for transporting corpses, esp. air transportation

The container is formed by an envelope (1) which may be hermetically sealed and depressurised and is manufactured from a material which conforms to the regulations concerning biodegradable shrouds. At one end (17) of the envelope is open for insertion of a corpse, and includes a security closure (19) which clip locks the open end of the envelope closed. The closure includes a one-way valve which may be connected to a suction source to depressurise the interior of the envelope after closure. A time-controlled release mechanism actuates a piercing punch or a chemical agent at a predetermined interval after depressurisation to allow communication between the interior of the envelope and its surroundings.
