<p>The plug connector has a supply side connector (A) for connection to a current supply unit. It also has a receiver side connector (B) to be fitted into the chassis of a vehicle. The supply side connector (A) has a connector body 91) with several contact clamps (22,22') or pins (31,31'). The connector body (1) is contained in a protective housing (2). A locking handle (12) engages in the receiving end connector (B). The protective housing (2) has a main housing (2A) with a cylindrical part (3) containing the connector body (1). A half-cylinder part (4) is formed integrally with the cylinder (3). The upper half of the half-cylinder (4) is open. A wall part (5) is integral with and at an angle to the half-cylinder (4). A side housing (2B) covers the half-cylinder (4) and wall part (5). An opening (11) extends from the cylinder (3) of the main housing (2A) to the side housing (2B). The connector body (1) is formed in one piece with the cylinder (3) via a flange (19) on its circumference. The locking arm (12) is arranged in the opening (11).</p>
