The current contact nozzle (1) for a welding gun is made of conductive material with a central bore (5) for the wire (6). A part of the connection piece (4) of the nozzle which screws into a holder (2) is removed to produce a cavity into which an independent contact piece (15) is located. This piece is forced into contact with the wire by a spring element (17).
