<p>A safety pressure relief valve includes a seat bushing (41) defining an inlet flow passage, a valve seat (45) on the inward end of the seat bushing (41), a valve disc (40) having a seat (43) thereon movably mounted in the valve body for opening and closing the valve, and a spring (21) coupled with the disc for biasing the disc (40) toward a closed position. The disc (40) includes a convex end portion (44) to reduce turbulence during flow into the valve for improved seating of the disc and an external annular recess defining an annular lip (50) on the disc (40) including a seat having a frustoconical seat surface (45), the lip (50) being flexible to improve the disc seat contact with the seat to increase the seat tightness of the valve.</p> |
