Simple economic bearing assembly attains high spinning spindle speed

A bearing assembly for a spinning or twist spindle has a roller bearing enclosed in an external cylindrical case for the spindle top and a plain bearing in a housing to take the bottom of the spindle. Roller and plain bearings are each fixed in the housing by separate sprung elements. Here the sprung element of the roller bearing (15) is a tube (11) which is located in the housing (10), is curtailed in its ability to oscillate radially and, in the form of the external casing (11.1), simultaneously encloses the bearing.
