A child's safety seat includes a base member (12) having a channel (16) through which the diagonal and lap portions of a securing adult seat belt (26) can be passed. The provision of the channel (16) prevents contact between the adult seat belt or its buckle assembly, and a seat member (14) of the safety seat (10) and between any safety harness attached to the seat member (14). The channel comprises a wall (18) to prevent contact between the belt and the seat member (14), and a ledge part (20) which keeps the buckle and tongue (26c, 28) away from any part of the child's seat. <IMAGE>
