Cleaning and sterilising installation for small objects, such as fasteners

Cleaning and sterilisation of small objects (e.g. fastening components) in a plant comprising a treatment unit (4), a vessel (1) and a transfer unit. The vessel (1) has connectors (5,6) which allow detachable coupling to the treatment unit (4) as well as to the transfer unit (4), so as to make possible the use of the vessel (1) as a sterilisation vessel as well as a transport vessel. Also claimed is a process using the above plant, where the objects to be treated are charged into the vessel, the latter being moved to a treatment unit to which it is connected by means of the connectors, such that the cleaning and sterilisation may be carried out in the vessel. The vessel is then disconnected from the treatment unit and aseptically connected to a transfer unit, into which the vessel is emptied in such a manner that the objects to be treated may be packed in a sterile condition.
