Water is kneaded into a predetermined dry composition including inorganic particles, a surfactant and a binder to give an aqueous slurry which is then pumped through a pipe (12) to a nozzle (13) into which compressed air is injected in order to spray said aqueous slurry. Air is also blown into said pipe (12) downstream from the pump (11) and upstream from the nozzle (13) to foam the surfactant, and the flow rate of the blown air is adjusted in order to control the foaming rate of the surfactant and thus vary the porosity of the sprayed coating.
