An electrocast refractory is prepared by (A) filling refractory raw powder in a hollow crucible having a cooling system, (B) melting the raw powder by high-frequency induced heating from the outside of peripheral part of the crucibe during cooling, (C) thermal melting by moving up the high-frequency induced heating position at some speed from the lower region of the crucible, (D) melting the raw powder up to the upper region completely, (E) finishing the crystalline growth of the molten raw material, (F) ceasing the high-frequency heating and removing the crucible, and (G) annealing the crystalline grown refractory.
