A machine for the production of puffed cereals comprising at least one pair of rotating drums (1) which are mounted on a platform (1) which can be tipped up about a transverse axis at one end. The drums (6) have hinged sealing doors (8) carried on plates (9) pivoted on projections (10) and closable automatically by fluid pressure actuators (13). The doors (8) can be latched in the closed position by a latch mechanism (14-20) acting on the plate (9) and comprising a latch element (14) one end of which is displaceable by a bracket (20) carried on a fluid pressure actuator (21).
