<p>The present invention is directed to a catheter tube assembly (2) for the internal administration or aspiration of fluids to the body cavity of a patient. The assembly includes a catheter tube (12) and a stylet (10). The catheter tube (12) has a passage section (13) with the stylet (10) being disposed in the passage section (13). The stylet (10) has an elongate body portion (30) having distal (31) and proximal (32) ends. The stylet (10) also includes a terminal end. A first leg (26) and a second leg (28) interconnect the body portion (30) to the terminal end. The stylet (10) further includes a support portion (18) located between the body portion and the terminal end. In one aspect of the invention, the support portion (18) and the terminal end form a circular loop (14).</p> |
