Otto or diesel engine fuel injection valve

A fuel injection valve, for Otto and diesel engines, has (a) a nozzle needle (3) having a spherical tip (7) with an integral pin(10) provided with longitudinal ribs (12); (b) a magnetic armature (4) is joined to the needle (3) at the side remote from the tip (7) by injection moulding or pressing; and (c) fuel flow channels (13) formed between the ribs (12) and a cylindrical or conical bore (15) of the armature (4). Pref. the valve seat (8) is coated with a PTFE such as 'Teflon' (RTM).
