The device has two clamping strips (3,4) which are connected by at least one pre-tensioned plate spring (5). One clamping strip (4) is in the form of the movable end of a plate spring fixed to the other clamping strip. The one clamping strip is a coupling over at least two plate springs forming a parallelogram with the other clamping strip to form a frame. At least one of the clamping strips is divided over the format width in the plate cylinder's axial direction. The lower clamping strip in the pit (2) of the plate cylinder is movably positioned. The pit contains a tensioning piece (9) for moving the lower clamping strip in the plate cylinder's peripheral direction.
