PURPOSE:To obtain a calcium pharmaceutical preparation, using a calcium ingredient and ferrous chloride in combination and capable of promoting and improving the absorption of calcium from an alimentary canal. CONSTITUTION:This calcium pharmaceutical preparation is obtained by using a calcium ingredient and ferrous chloride in combination. The calcium and ferrous chloride are preferably blended at 1:[(1/1000) to 5/1000)] weight ratio of the calcium:ferrous chloride. The calcium ingredient used herein may be calcium carbonate, calcium phosphate, calcium hydroxide, etc., derived from minerals, e.g. limestone or milk of lime; shellfish calcium derived from oyster shells, shellfishes or corals, etc. ; crustaceans such as a crab, a lobster or a shrimp; algae such as sea tangle (Laminaria japonica Areschoug), hizikia (Hizikia fusiforme Okamura) or WAKAME seaweed (Undaria pinnatifida Suringar); bones of mammals or eggshells, etc. The ferrous chloride may be prepared by purifying a commercially available product. For example, a calcium absorbefacient separated from calcium of a sea urchin test may be used and a fraction containing the ferrous chloride may be separated and collected for use. The calcium pharmaceutical preparation can be produced into a medicine, a quasi-drug, a food, etc. |
