The apparatus for producing the resin chips extrudes the molten resin with high temperature in a strand shape and then cuts the strand to the chips using a raw material for molding. The apparatus has a bogie(110), the strand guide(120) with a groove(121) for loading the extruded strands with the cooling water, a cutter(130) for cutting the strands, a water duct(140) for conveying the cutting chips with the cooling water, a first vibrator(150) for separating the chips from the cooling water, a dryer(160), a second vibrator(170), and a storage tank(500) for storing the chips. The apparatus further includes the movement control means with an encoder and a sensor for controlling the movement of the bogie(110); connecting means with an actuator for connecting or separating the respective means; and a detecting means for detecting the piling of chips or strands.
