The apparatus includes a key inputting part for sending, releasing, and setting a signal onto a tape; a controlling part for outputting a control signal according to the key inputting part; a decoding part for outputting a CTL signal corresponding to the key input according to the control signal; a recoding part for recording the CTL signal on a control track of the tape; and a duty identifying part for identifying the duty ratio of the CTL signal recorded on the control track.
