PURPOSE:To improve the working property at the connecting work execution of a pipe to be connected, and perform this work execution only with a general tool in a pipe connecting method for fastening a screw cylinder in the state where the pipe to be connected is inserted to the internal thread part of a connecting cylinder, thereby connecting the pipe to be connected in the outer circumferentially air-tight state and stopped state. CONSTITUTION:A seal hole part 1a is provided in the deep part of the internal thread part 13 of a connecting cylinder 1 concentrically thereto, a pressurizing end surface 1b opposed to the top end of a screw cylinder 2 is provided on the deep end part of the seal hole part 1a, and a seal ring 3 is housed in the seal hole part 1a. The seal ring 3 is axially compressed and deformed by fastening the screw cylinder 2. Thus, the radial width of the seal ring 3 is extended to bite the whole area of the inner periphery of the seal ring 3 into the pipe wall of a pipe P to be connected, and the pipe wall is plastically deformed to be protruded inward over the whole circumference. |
