PURPOSE:To judge a cause of abnormality of supply of the coolant and abnormality of the load current, and to quickly cope with the abnormality so as to prevent the deterioration of a fuel cell by detecting a temperature to be compared with a reference temperature. CONSTITUTION:Temperature detecting means 7a-7c are arranged in a laminated body 2, which is formed of plural cells, at predetermined positions to detect the distribution of temperature, and a control means 8 compares them with a preset reference temperature. In the case where a detected temperature exceeds an allowable range, excess and lack of the supplying flow quantity of the fuel gas, oxidant gas and the coolant and overflow of the load current quantity.is judged. On the basis of a result of the detection, the control means 8 controls flow quantity of the fuel gas, oxidant gas and the coolant with flow quantity control valves 9, 10, 11 and stops the battery for protection with switch valves 13, 14. Abnormality can be thereby detected and coped with in a short time to prevent the deterioration of a fuel cell. |
