PURPOSE:To increase the speed of air bag operation and enhance the safety by constituting a gas cylinder boring metal fitting to be provided with a wedge shape boring part formed by obliquely cutting off a cylinder in device wherein the gas cylinder is unsealed to unfold an air bag at the time of car crush such as an automobile. CONSTITUTION:In a boring unsealing metal fitting 1 for operating an air bag, adoption of a cylindrical wedge shape can decrease a wedge angle and can reduce the resistance against gas. Because of presence of a hollow cylinder part of the cylindrical wedge shape metal fitting 1, a gas short-circuit path 2 can be secured even in a process of gas cylinder boring unsealing, and due to dynamic pressure of gas passing this short-circuit path 2, a bored sealing metal foil piece 3 is press-opened and a bored hole can be enlarged. The bored part is formed in such a manner that a hollow cylinder is provided with eccentricity relative to an outer peripheral cylinder part, and a slit 6 is provided in the axial direction at a boring wedge part end position so that the bored metal foil can be retained at a seal part. |
