PURPOSE:To realize improved visual field characteristics by consisting oriented films formed on the inside walls of substrates of a specific polyimide film material. CONSTITUTION:The division of the orientation regions by irradiation with light or heat energy is made possible by using the polyimide having a specific functional group within the molecule as an oriented film material. This liquid crystal display panel is composed of the substrate 18 having the oriented film 26, the substrate 16 having the oriented film 22 and liquid crystals 20. At least the oriented film 22 consists of the single oriented film having microregions A, B adjacent to each other. The single oriented film is continuously rubbed in one direction along the microregions A, B and is subjected to another treatment separate from the rubbing in such a manner that the pretilt angle Y of the liquid crystals in contact with the oriented films varies from each other. |
