<p>PURPOSE:To detect an altitude optimally and frequently without using any barometer regardless of control condition of a means which varies efficiency for filling air into a combustion chamber, in a vehicle in which an internal combustion engine is mounted. CONSTITUTION:A variable valve timing mechanism (VVT) 23 by which the opening/closing timing of an intake valve 8 is made variable is provided in an engine except throttle valve 17. In an electronic control device (ECU) 50, the VVT 23 is controlled on the basis of detecting values of respective sensors 42, 43, 46, and the like. The atmosphere pressure in the use environment of an automobile Am is judged by relation of a detected throttle opening degree, an engine rotational speed, and an intake air amount. At the time of judgement, the relation of the detected throttle opening degree, the engine rotational speed, and the intake air amount is collected by the value of a cam rotational angle showing control condition of the VVT 23. It is thus possible to compensate for change and detect the atmosphere pressure even if the intake air amount is change by the VVT 23 regardless of no change of the throttle opening degree.</p> |
