PURPOSE:To ensure that print productivity is increased and at the same time, a device is miniaturized by shortening the movement time of a head and a recovery means in a constitution with a plurality of ink jet heads and recovery means used for the treatment to maintain the discharge state of the heads satisfactorily. CONSTITUTION:A tub part 23 as a recovery means is arranged leaving a space for allowing it to pass through the discharge part side of a head 5, and a holder is constituted so that the head 5 can be arranged in accordance with the arrangement of the tub part 23. Consequently, the relative movement amount (the movement amount of a recovery unit) of the head 5 and the recovery system unit between a printing position and a capping position in a horizontal direction, is allowed to be small. Further, a movement mechanism can be miniaturized and time required for the movement may be shortened. |
