PURPOSE:To provide a seat belt winding device in which timing for releasing belt clamping by a belt clamp mechanism can be made to accurately cope with a tensile force acting on the belt. CONSTITUTION:In the belt clamp mechanism 29, a clamp member 32 for clamping a belt 23 in emergency is provided with the appropriate number of locking protrusions 35 each of which stabs an acute angled sharp tip into the belt 23 when it is pressed to the belt 23 so as to restrict drawing out of the belt 23 and in each of which when a load over than a fixed value acts on the tip thereof the tip is broken or deformed to release restriction of the belt 23. A stopper 38 is provided which restricts movement of the clamp member 32 to the belt 23 side at a position where the tip of the locking protrusion 35 is stabbing into the belt 23 by a certain quantity. |
