PURPOSE:To provide an instrument capable of measuring both the metabolic function with oxygen and neurergic activity distribution living organism simulthneously. CONSTITUTION:An object 6 to be examined is irradiated via a probe 5 with a light beam radiated from a light source 1 and the light beam passing through the object body is detected by a multi-channel photodetector 8 via a multi-input multi-output switch 3. The magnetic field inside the object 6 is detected by SQUID incorporated in the probe 5. The detected results are processed by an optical data processor 10 and a magnetic field data processor 11; the processed results are displayed on a display 13.
