COORDINATE INPUT DEVICE AND VIBRATOR MOUNTING METHOD

PURPOSE:To provide a coordinate input device which is capable of performing a stable coordinate input. CONSTITUTION:The vibration inputted from a vibration pen 3 propagates transmission plate 8 and the vibration is detected by a sensor 6. The sensor 6 is adhered to the transmission plate 8 by an adhering layer 12 and the sensor is brought into contact with the transmission plate 8 by also a contact member 13. Therefore, a plate wave symmetrical wave to be shear components is propagated to the sensor 6 by the adhering layer 12 where area is small and an asymmetrical wave is propagated to the sensor 6 by the contact member where area is large. Because the sensor 6 is the one detecting the asymmetrical wave, the detection of the symmetrical wave to be unnecessary components can be suppressed and only necessary vibration components can be detected. The detected vibration is propagated to an arithmetic control circuit 1 via a signal waveform detection circuit 9 and the coordinate of the vibration pen 3 is calculated.
