PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording material having high sensitivity, good in raw preservability, forming a developed color image good in stability and excellent in light fastness by adding a salicylic acid derivative represented by a specific formula or a metal salt thereof and a metal compd. to a thermal color forming layer containing an electron donating leuco dye and an electron acceptive compd. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal recording material wherein a thermal color forming layer containing an electron donating leuco dye and an electron acceptive compd. is provided on a support, a salicylic acid derivative represented by formula (wherein R1 is a substituted amino group, X is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, a phenyl group, an alkoxy group or a halogen atom, M is a hydrogen atom or a n-valent metal atom and n is an integer) or a metal salt thereof and a metal compd. are added to the thermal color forming layer in a solid dispersion state. Herein, zinc oxide is used as the metal compd. This recording material has high sensitivity and does not generate fog color development or the erasure of a developed color part caused by chemicals and has extremely excellent properties. |
