PURPOSE:To obtain enough flatness and to improve the display quality by forming a black matrix and pixels on a transparent substrate in such a manner that either surface of the black matrix or pixels has repellency against water and oil and then treating the substrate to remove the repellency against water and oil. CONSTITUTION:After a black matrix and pixels are formed on a transparent substrate in such a manner that either surface of the matrix or pixel has repellency against water and oil, the substrate is treated to remove the repellency against water and oil. By this method, such a component that is repellent against ink is deactivated so that the repellency against a top coating material can be eliminated. Thus, enough flatness can be obtd. by applying a top coating material. Thereby, the color filter is made flat and excellent display quality is obtd. Even when a top coating material is not applied, no adverse effect such as to disturb the orientation of the liquid crystal in the module and to cause insulation fault is exerted because the component which is repellent against ink is deactivated. Thus, high reliability is obtd. |
